November Auction Highlights

Brown and Turner’s Contemporary Art, Antiques and Interiors Auction starts at 10am on Saturday 14th November with a limited number of attendees in the room.  The auction includes a selection of antiques, furniture, collectables and jewellery as well as over 70 lots of Contemporary Art from artists across Scotland and further afield.  The Contemporary Art will not commence before 11.30am.

Some of the notable furniture lots include Lot 89 Barker & Stonehouse Hardwood Dining Room Suite, estimate £350 – £450. Lot 69, a Rosewood Inlaid Window Table, estimated between £150 – £200 and Lot 63, Pair of Victorian Mahogany Hall Chairs estimated between £60 – £80.  For those looking for some home entertainment there is Lot 98, W Folkes & Sons Billiard Table Builders, The Challenge 6ft Billiard Table with an estimate of £100 – £200.

Lot 86, Two Contemporary Floor Standing Metal Figures of Giraffes are a popular piece with an estimate of £100 – £150. Other pieces by prominent artists are Lot 35 Mabel Allington Royds (1874-1941) “Indian Bazaar and Temple”, (Est £300 – £500), Lot 43 Tom Scott RSA RSW (Scottish 1854-1927) “Ettrick Carterhaugh” (Est £250 – £350) and Lots 50 – 56 all by Robert T.H. Smith.

The Contemporary Art Auction starts at 11.30am with over 70 lots from artists across Scotland and beyond taking part including Sophie Harden, Julie Barnes, Georgina Bown SSA and Gill Walton to name a few. Prices start from £150 to £3,000 with an array of mediums on show.
