16th May Live Online Auction

May 1, 2020

We wanted to take this opportunity to update you on Brown & Turner’s plans for the coming weeks.  The auction set to take place on the 28th March will now take place on Saturday 16th May, as a live online auction, and will adhere strictly to government and scientific advice on social distancing to ensure the safety of our buyers, sellers and Brown & Turner team.

We are delighted to be showcasing our new online bidding system via www.brownandturner.co.uk with a reduced internet surcharge of 3% + VAT (Saleroom is 4.95%).  In addition, people will be able to call into our live conference call facility to listen and bid on the auction as well as leave commission bids.

With the announcement by UK government’s chief medical adviser, Chris Witty, that some form of “very socially disruptive” distancing measures will be needed for at least the rest of the year and possibly until a vaccine for COVID-19 is found, a move to online auctions behind closed doors is the only viable and safe option for the foreseeable future.

Contactless Delivery

Our in house, professional, removal team are perfectly set to provide contactless delivery and collection service reducing any delays or dilemmas when buying or selling items. Alternatively, buyers are welcome to collect items by appointment to ensure social distancing provisions are adhered too.

All items will be available to view on the week prior to the 16th May by appointment to ensure social distancing is adhered too.  For those who do not wish to visit the sale room we can provide video viewings and additional pictures.  All vendor payments will be paid 2 weeks after the auction.

As further guidance comes, we will endeavour to adapt and keep you up to date, in the meantime the industry is moving online to provide a continued service to our sellers and buyers.  Thank you again for you continued support and we look forward to welcoming you online on Saturday 16th May.
