November’s Contemporary Art, Antiques & Interiors Auction again showed a buoyant market for jewellery.  Lot 3, 9ct White Gold and Diamond Ladies Ring, went significantly overestimate realising over £290 (estimate £130-£150).

Lot 15, Nine Assorted Corgi Die Cast Models, attracted several collectors and sold for double the market estimate realising over £250 and Lot 31, Antique Violin circa late 19th / early 20th century, realised £330 (estimate £150 – £250).  

Lot 63, Pair of Victorian Mahogany Hall Chairs gained a lot of interest online and in the room, realising over £280 (estimate £60 – £80), and Lot 62 George III Mahogany Chest of Drawers, realised over £280 (estimate £150 – £200).  Lot 111, Late Victorian Mahogany Kneehole Desk, realised £200 from an estimate of £50 – £70.

Within the Contemporary Art Section Lot 337, an oil on canvas of Elephant’s bathing by Sophie Harden realised over £1,100.  Martin Irish’s mixed media pieces all proved very popular with Lot 355, You Disappeared with the Morning Light, realising over £900.

A Second Chance Timed Auction will now be running from 16th– 22nd November, with the first lot closing at 8pm.  A new Affordable Auction will be running alongside, with a starting bid on £10.  To browse and bid visit: https://brownandturner.co.uk/auctions/

The experienced team offer valuations for insurance, inheritance tax purposes and settlements.  The in-house removal teams make house clearances and moves much simpler – as part of a move different items can be valued and transferred to store, the Brown and Turner auction house and to new premises.
